I have been arranging invitation only dinners (sometimes including a movie beforehand) and they are becoming very popular as low pressure, relaxed and casual social meetings with other singles.

I’ve been inviting a ‘younger’ group and will now start an ‘older’ group. You can choose which group you wish to participate in – I’m not splitting anyone by age and would rather concentrate on attitudes!

I’ve had several phone calls from people interested in coming along to the festival this weekend and asking whether it was appropriate to bring kids along.  The answer is YES!  Kids under 12 have free entry and there are kids activities available.  SO pack up the whole family with your picnic blankets & chairs and come along for some fun.  Look out for a green pergola in the audience area with the cartoon duck on a sign – or txt Adrienne on 021 480 212 if you’re lost.

Duck Soup Richmond Drinks is for those people living in the Tasman region! Come along to Sundial Square for Christmas Carols from 6.30pm-8.00pm and then we’ll head into The Stables on Thursday 18 December. You could also pop over to the Mall for your late night shopping. Of course you’re welcome if you live in Nelson – however, this is a great opportunity to meet a new social group in YOUR town, Richmond singles!

Seems our beach walk has been rained out – so just meet up at 623 On the Rocks any time after 6.30pm for a coffee, cocktail or dinner…  Adrienne (021 480 212) will run over to the whale at 6.30pm to round up any keen walkers and bring them in from the cold!

This month our Duck Soup Networking night falls on Sunday 2 November – 7.30pm at the House of Ales.

We are meeting for a Duck Soup Movie Night on Friday 14 November HOPEFULLY for “Burn After Reading” - A comedy thriller from Joel Coen and Ethan Coen starring George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Brad Pitt. Group in the foyer 10-15 minutes before movie time and we’ll have coffee in the cafe afterwards.

Every Tuesday night at 7.30pm sharp is Quiz Night at the House of Ales and we will enter a Duck Soup team when we can (never to victory – but there is always a chance!).  If you have been in a pub quiz team before – or know lots of trivial things – call Adrienne (544-2088) to book your seat on the team for this week – cost $2!  You are welcome to become a regular – or just sit in now and then when you feel like it.

Christmas Duck Soup Networking falls on Sunday 7 December. Wear your red & green christmassy gear for special spot prizes from the House of Ales and get into the spirit of the season with your Duck Soup friends from 7.30pm at the House of Ales.
