Duck Soup is on this Sunday at the House of Ales from 7.30pm. If you’re looking for something different on your social schedule, join us for a safe, fun night of mingling & speed networking with 200 other unattached over 30’s in Nelson. Mention Duck Soup in your online dating profile to spread the word… and why not invite the person you’ve been messaging online to meet you there?

If you haven’t been to a Duck Soup night yet, you’ll be met at the door and given a name tag then introduced to someone new. There are contact cards provided if you’d like to share your phone number to keep in touch with someone during the month…. but there is no requirement to sign up to anything or even reveal your last name.

Some of the feedback we’ve had since last month has included:
“Thank you all for a great night out on Fathers day. There are not many places a female can comfortably go alone but I certainly felt I was among friends. It made me realise there are a lot of lonely people out there in little old Nelson and to be able to meet up and enjoy other peoples company in the same boat is great. A bit soon to dance on the table yet,….. but who knows with what you are organising it just could happen!”
“Congratulations, I heard about your group from another single in Nelson who was totally impressed. It is nice to know after two years of being in my rut !!! (work and home) that there are other like-minded people out there!”
“I have to say that was one of THE best nights I’ve had out in ages…. I just had an absolute blast. I caught up with people I hadn’t seen in ages and made some new friends… Thanks so so much and I will be looking forward to next month.”

The Duck Soup Mix Team are also organising some additional events including a twilight beach walk with coffee afterwards; a salsa dance lesson; a movie; and a Richmond venue for a dance night. Please check out www.ducksoup.co.nz for the latest information and details – and send that link to your single friends!

Thanks for contributing to an amazing Duck Soup last week.  The headcount reached 190 without counting our addicted friends outside…. and we’re glad we moved all the stools and tables out of the way!  Our Speed Networking experience was particularly well received and we have some new ideas to build on that success next month.  If you have other ideas or suggestions, please use our website forms to contact us.  Don’t forget to bring along your free house wine card and we’ll see you then.

The most creative answers to our quiz question will be posted soon.

Adrienne, Mixologist| September 2, 2008 8:48 pm

Reminder: Duck Soup this Sunday night (Fathers Day) 7 September from 7.30pm at the House of Ales at the top of Trafalgar Street.

Once again over 120 people attended our August event to mix and mingle taking advantage of the welcoming atmosphere at the House of Ales and the winning Duck Soup formula. It was gratifying to welcome back familiar faces and exciting to note the steadily abundant flow of new interest on the night. Comments received after the event included:-

Just to say thank you for the lovely evening, and well done for all the effort. Although I am a bit of a shy type, I found the environment and company great.

I just wanted to compliment all of you for a lovely evening. Well done. I had great fun!

From the positive feedback received it is clear Nelsonians are a friendly bunch. So if you want to step out on September 7th, be greeted at the door of the Houes of Ales and take advantage of this great chance to network you can be assured of a hearty Duck Soup welcome.  There is no reason to be CHICKEN – come along and join us to CELEBRATE being SINGLE!

This month our contact cards have a new special offer from the House of Ales. More information and a map to the House of Ales is available on our new website: www.ducksoup.co.nz

See you there!
