Well ... how I would of liked to have changed my first experience of Duck Soup .... (and this is just mine)

Nothing ...... I hated it ! But I did it anyway ! And it was worth it too. Thank you A

But one suggestion ? Do we have to wear name tags? Why not a sticker with simply the duck on it ? It identifies you as part of "that"group of people, and hoping (just hoping) others with the sticker are a little empathic to a noticable newbie ? When you have a name like mine, you stick out like .................. (well, you just stick out) or completely oppisite, you simply just blend in.

And so I would say, finding out what a persons name is, is part of the experience, the excitement, of meeting new people, regardless of the (hopefully nice) persons intention. It also gives you a chance to realize just who would like to talk to you.... "hi sorry, my name is Jack, I missed yours?" etc. A chance to open up a conversation. Of course not all of us are socially confident ...... but Im getting there.

Excuse my spelling if I have made mistakes above ..... I have just moved house and cant for the life of me remember where the dictionary is, nor my toothbrush ........ ......... .. son ...... son ? :)

...Ran out of excuses for not coming to the monthly mingle this 1st Nov and came to realize that maybe I wasn't the most scared bunny there after all.
It was actually ok, and I might give this another try or two.
The 3 minute speed networking was good, just like a (gentle) kick in the backside to get you out of the safe but boring "I'll just stand here and look like I'm ordering a drink" mode.
The one thing I regret, is the exchanging phone numbers thing.
I'd recommend, if you are a first timer, just to say to anyone that expects you to dish out your phone number in exchange for theirs, that you need a bit of time to consider it, then go away and think if you REALLY want to, before handing it out to someone you've only just met, or if you're just swept away by so much attention and don't know how to say no thankyou.
I was guilty of this and now have to say to someone that, no, I don't actually want to go out for coffee with them.
Or you could thank them if they give you their number and not feel obliged to reciprocate on the spot.
